Finding levity in the midst of ML

I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward”

- Kurt Vonnegut

I have been frustrated & exhausted at many times over the last week as I move into a challenging ML project. I found silly ML memes provided some temporary relief from the swimming array of greek symbols & python code that kept my head in a whirl … So I figured I would start collecting some here :-)

I had to move back to Tensorflow this weekend to use some key libraries that weren’t available to interface with Pytorch…. this felt so true:

Catching up with friends who wanted to know what was going on this week - felt a little like this one:

Then there are, of course, the terrifying/nihilistic/conspiracy theory style memes on ML/AI:

And then there’s always-

So, the last may or may not be funny (depending on your level of sleep, taste et al) … but don’t blame me - blame AI! It is from the “Dank Learning” paper from a CS224n project where students generated memes using a LSTM based model.
